Anil Singhal - Founder, President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board

Anil Singhal  
Anil Singhal, age 61, co-founded NetScout in June 1984 and has served as NetScout’s Chief Executive Officer and as a director on the Company’s Board since inception. In January 2007, Mr. Singhal was appointed Chairman of the Board, and has been serving as NetScout’s President, CEO and Chairman since that time. In his current role, Mr. Singhal is focused on providing strategic leadership and vision, as well as setting operational priorities for the Company’s management team. Mr. Singhal’s vision of “traffic-based instrumentation” has guided NetScout’s product direction and focus for the past three decades, helping to shape the evolution for the industry in the process. Under Mr. Singhal’s leadership, NetScout has grown substantially during the past three decades, completing its initial public offering in 1999 and reaching nearly $400 million in revenue in fiscal year 2014. He is credited with numerous innovations in the field of network traffic monitoring and analysis that have helped NetScout gain several of industry accolades. During the past decade, Mr. Singhal has also been an instrumental part of a number of strategic acquisitions that have fortified and enhanced NetScout’s technology, customer base and go-to-market capabilities. Mr. Singhal has earned notable recognition for his entrepreneurial success, including the TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) Boston Lifetime Achievement in 2013, Enterprise Bank’s 2013 George L. Duncan Award of Excellence and Ernst & Young’s New England Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997. Mr. Singhal holds a BSEE from BITS, Pilani, India and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
 

Michael Szabados - Chief Operating Officer

Michael Szabados  

Michael Szabados, age 62, has served as NetScout’s Chief Operating Officer since April 2007. In this role, Mr. Szabados is focused on executing NetScout’s vision and strategy. During his tenure, he has been critical in helping lead the Company’s key functional areas as the Company more than doubled in size. Mr. Szabados has also helped lead the integration of Network General and five other companies that NetScout has acquired. His career at NetScout began in 1997 when he joined the Company as vice president, marketing, charged with increasing the Company’s overall visibility and market awareness. His responsibilities expanded in 2001 to encompass product development, manufacturing and customer support when he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Product Operations. A veteran of the enterprise networking industry, Mr. Szabados held senior leadership roles with companies including UB Networks, SynOptics/Bay Networks and MIPS Corporation following engineering and product management roles at Intel Corporation and later at Apple. Mr. Szabados holds a BSEE from UC Irvine and an MBA from UC Santa Clara.

 

Jean Bua - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Jean Bua, age 56, has served as NetScout’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since November 2011. She joined the company in September 2010 as Vice President, Finance, in conjunction with the Company’s succession planning. In her current role, Ms. Bua is responsible for investor relations, treasury, financial planning and analysis, real estate development, accounting and compliance. Ms. Bua has played a key role in executing on the financial aspects of the Company’s strategy during a period in which the Company’s market capitalization grew by 300%. During her tenure, the Company has successfully completed and integrated five acquisitions. Before joining NetScout, Ms. Bua served as Executive Vice President, Finance & Treasurer of American Tower Corporation, a leading provider of infrastructure for the wireless telecommunications industry. While at American Tower, she was a critical contributor to multiple equity and debt financings, and numerous acquisitions that enabled the company to more than double in revenue through both acquisition and organic growth. Prior to American Tower, Ms. Bua spent nine years at Iron Mountain, Inc., concluding as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Worldwide Controller. During her tenure, Iron Mountain successfully consolidated the records management industry and grew from annual revenue of $100 million to over $2 billion through more than 100 domestic and international acquisitions. Previously, she held senior positions at Duracraft Corp. and Keithley Instruments. She was a management consultant at Ernst & Young and an auditor at KPMG. Ms. Bua earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Bryant College and her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.

 

Ken Boyd - Chief Information Officer, Senior Vice President, Services

Ken Boyd is CIO for NetScout and is responsible for Worldwide Customer / Technical Support. He has over 28 years of experience in Information Technology. Prior to the acquisition of Network General by NetScout, Mr. Boyd was responsible for Information Technology, R&D and Product Operations. Prior to joining Network General, Mr. Boyd served as a senior executive at Remedy over a period of 5+ years, where he held various key roles, including CIO, Vice President of Product Operations and Vice President, Product Management/Product Marketing. Prior to joining Remedy, Mr. Boyd held numerous senior roles at Adobe Systems where he was strategic in architecting client server solutions and evolving Adobe's intranet with Web and Adobe technologies. Previously, Boyd held roles of CIO at Read-Rite Corporation and Group Information Technology Director for Unisys Corporation, supporting a $2 billion business unit.

 

John Downing - Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales Operations

John W. Downing, age 56, has served as NetScout’s Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales Operations, since 2007. In this role, Mr. Downing is responsible for directing the Company’s sales leadership in both the service provider and enterprise markets. Under Mr. Downing’s direction, NetScout has reported strong revenue growth and built vibrant, long-term relationships with leading telecommunications service providers, government agencies and many of the world’s largest corporations. He joined NetScout in 2000 as Vice President, Sales Operations, instituting and refining key go-to-market programs and sales processes that have underpinned the Company’s four-fold revenue growth during the past fourteen years. Prior to NetScout, from April 1998 until September 2000, Mr. Downing served as Vice President of Sales at Genrad Corporation, a $300 million manufacturer of electronic testing equipment and production solutions, and was Vice President of North American Sales from January 1996 until March 1998. Mr. Downing earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Tufts University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Suffolk University. 

 

Ashwani Singhal - Senior Vice President, Research & Development

Ashwani Singhal has served as Vice President, Engineering and Product Development since January 2001. Mr. Singhal joined NetScout in 1987 and served as a Senior Software Engineer and Project Manager from 1987 until February 1997, as Director of Engineering from February 1997 until October 1998 and as Vice President, Engineering from October 1998 through December 2000. Prior to joining NetScout, he was a Senior Software Engineer at Symmetrix, an artificial intelligence systems company, from 1982 until 1987. Mr. Singhal is the brother of Anil Singhal, NetScout's President, Chief Executive Officer, Treasurer and Director.

 

Skip Maloney - Vice President, Human Resources

Skip Maloney  

Skip Maloney joined NetScout in November 2014 as our Vice President of Human Resources. He has over 20 years of progressive Human Resource experience in the Medical Device, Semiconductor and Hi-Tech industries as a thought leader in the field of Strategic Human Capital. Mr. Maloney was the Vice President of Human Resources for privately-held Lake Region Medical headquartered in the Boston area where he was responsible for the overall direction of the HR platform including Merger and Acquisition Integration, Talent Management and Leadership Development. Prior to Lake Region Medical, he was a Director at the publically traded semiconductor firm Brooks Automation based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Before this, Mr. Maloney held a Human Resource Directorship for the hardware/software firm Mercury Computer Systems, also a publically traded company based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

 

Bruce Kelley, Jr. - Vice President, Chief Technology Officer

Bruce Kelley, Jr. co-founded NextPoint Networks, Inc. in November 1996 and served as a Director and as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Since the acquisition of NextPoint by NetScout in July 2000, Mr. Kelley had served as Vice President, Engineering, Service Level Management of NetScout from July 2000 to December 2000. In January 2001, Mr. Kelley assumed the position of NetScout’s Chief Technology Officer. Prior to founding NextPoint, he held various engineering positions at Digital Equipment Corporation from 1982 to 1996, including Consultant Software Engineer and Network Management Technical Director within Digital’s Network Management Engineering Group.

 

Jeff Levinson - Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary

Jeff Levinson is Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary responsible for global legal strategy and legal operations at NetScout. Before joining the company in 2005, he served four years as corporate counsel at Nuance. Before that he was General Counsel at an internet startup and a division counsel at a global publishing company. Mr. Levinson holds degrees from Harvard and Boston University School of Law and an MBA from Babson. He is Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel's Law Department Management Committee (Leadership/Strategy/Operations), a Board member of the ACC Northeast Chapter, and a member of the program committee of the National Association of Corporate Directors, New England chapter.

 

Brian McCann - Vice President and General Manager Packet Flow Switch Business

Brian McCann  

Brian McCann came to NetScout through the acquisition of ONPATH Technologies in 2012. As CEO of ONPATH, Brian was responsible for the vision, growth strategy, and total leadership of the business, increasing revenues nearly fivefold during his tenure, and dramatically increasing new product investments to further grow the addressable applications for the company’s core technologies. Mr. McCann was the founding President of the US Division of ADVA Optical Networking. He was also the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of the global organization. During his tenure from 1996 to 2008, the North American business grew to over 250 people achieving over $100 million in revenues as global revenues exceeded $350 million. Mr. McCann spent nine years at 3M Corporation, and served on the Board of Directors of Nexxus Lighting. He regularly speaks at technology and entrepreneur conferences. Mr. McCann holds a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering and Fiber Optics Program from Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J.

 

Jim McNiel - Vice President, Worldwide Marketing

Jim McNiel joined NetScout in July 2014 to lead worldwide Corporate Marketing activities. He has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry as an entrepreneur, leader and technologist. Mr. McNiel was the President and CEO of publicly traded FalconStor Software, the inventor of Virtual Tape Library and a pioneer in the virtualized storage market. Prior to FalconStor, he was the President and CEO of Fifth Generation Systems. Before this, Mr. McNiel was General Partner at Pequot Capital for nine years where he invested in and served on the boards of: Netegrity, OutlookSoft, NetGear, Asia Online, Bowstreet, and many others. Prior to Pequot, he was Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Cheyenne Software with responsibilities for business development, OEM sales, Product Management and Investor Relations. During his tenure at Cheyenne, Mr. McNiel was also instrumental in the creation of ARCServe, the world’s first client server backup solution. Cheyenne was acquired by CA for $1.2 billion in 1996. Previous to Cheyenne, he held engineering and senior management roles at Lucasfilm and AST Research. Mr. McNiel is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.

 

Joe Wilson - Vice President, Manufacturing

For the past seventeen years Joe Wilson has served as a member of the NetScout Management Team with responsibilities in both Manufacturing and Information Technologies. His leadership in driving innovation and focus in these key areas continues to enable the company’s consistent growth from $30M in 1998 to its current levels. During his career he has developed domain expertise in the areas of Network Management, Business Applications, Manufacturing Management as well as Building and Avionics Systems across multiple verticals in the Private, Public and Military sectors. Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technologies from Rhode Island College.”

 

Tracy Steele - Vice President, Global Technical Support Services

Tracy Steele has served NetScout since November 1995. In his current position, Vice President of Global Technical Support Services, Mr. Steele is responsible for worldwide technical support, training and other business operations at NetScout. Mr. Steele joined NetScout in November 1995 and has held varied positions with increasing responsibilities, starting as Director of Manufacturing in 1995 to Vice President, Manufacturing in 1997 to now. Prior to joining NetScout, he served as Director of Manufacturing for Scope Communications, a developer of hand-held network tools. Mr. Steele also served in various manufacturing and management positions at NBase-Xyplex, Inc., a computer networking company.

 

Bruce Sweet - Vice President, Corporate Development

Bruce Sweet  

Bruce Sweet is the Vice President, Corporate Development and leads our global corporate development activities including mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Sweet came to NetScout in July 2000 through the acquisition of NextPoint Networks, Inc. where he was a co-founder, Director and Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. Since the acquisition Mr. Sweet has served NetScout as Vice President, Engineering, Capacity Management, Vice President, Engineering Services and Customer Satisfaction and as Vice President, Business Development. Prior to founding NextPoint, he was the Director of Network Management with Digital Equipment Corporation’s Network Business Unit. While with Digital Equipment Corporation Mr. Sweet held various engineering positions of increasing responsibility beginning in 1983.
