nGenius Cloud vTAP

NETSCOUT’s nGenius Cloud vTAP solution fills the visibility gap in cloud environments that is the result of lack of traffic mirroring capabilities between the production network and monitoring tools.  nGenius Cloud vTAP is a unique, cloud-agnostic approach for packet acquisition traffic mirroring that operates in public cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.

nGenius Cloud vTAP, supported by the nGeniusONE Performance Management solution, provides packet forwarding capabilities in the cloud to NETSCOUT’s vSTREAM virtual appliance for network and application performance management.

nGenius Cloud vTAP Deployment

The current nGenius Cloud vTAP supports Microsoft Azure environments and performs the following key operations:

The nGenius Cloud vTAP typically deploys in pairs, receiving traffic from an Azure Load Balancer for routing and traffic acquisition purposes and forwarding a copy of the traffic to a vSTREAM virtual appliance. The vSTREAM then performs traffic analysis using NETSCOUT’s patented Adaptive Service Intelligence™ (ASI) technology, generating Smart Data for smart analytics in nGeniusONE for performance management, troubleshooting, and reporting.
