NETSCOUT Appoints Vivian Vitale and Michael Szabados to Board of Directors

Company Also Announces Vin Mullarkey’s Retirement from the Board

WESTFORD, Mass., February 20, 2019 – NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC. (NASDAQ: NTCT) announced that Vivian Vitale and Michael Szabados have been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors. 

“Each new director brings valuable perspective and experience to our Board that we believe will help propel our business forward,” stated Anil Singhal, NETSCOUT’s president, CEO and chairman of the board of directors. “Vivian’s career has been defined by her ability to help market-leading technology companies efficiently and effectively scale their businesses and shape high-performing cultures. I also believe that our Board can benefit tremendously from the knowledge and insights into NETSCOUT that Michael has gained over the past 22 years, including the past 12 years as COO.”

The Company also announced that Vincent J. Mullarkey, 70, has retired from the Board of Directors following 18 years of distinguished service. As a member of the NETSCOUT Board of Directors since 2000, Mr. Mullarkey chaired its Audit Committee from 2001 through the fall of 2018 and served on its Finance Committee from 2007 through the fall of 2018.

Vivian Vitale currently operates Vivian Vitale Consulting, which is focused on assisting organizations with people management practices, organizational transitions and leadership coaching. In her most recent corporate role, Ms. Vitale served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Veracode, an application security leader that was acquired by CA Technologies in 2017. Ms. Vitale’s experience also includes executive HR leadership positions at successful, fast-growing high technology companies including Unica (acquired by IBM), Care.com and RSA Security (acquired by EMC). 

In connection with his appointment to the Board, Mr. Szabados was also named Vice Chairman of the Board. He will continue to serve as NETSCOUT’s chief operating officer, a position he has held since 2007. As COO, Mr. Szabados has played a pivotal role in leading, integrating, and adapting the Company’s functional areas through both organic expansion and multiple acquisitions. His career at NETSCOUT began in 1997 when he joined the Company as Vice President of Marketing, charged with increasing the Company’s visibility and market awareness. His responsibilities expanded in 2001 to encompass product development, manufacturing, and customer support when he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Product Operations. Prior to joining NETSCOUT, Mr. Szabados held senior leadership roles at top enterprise networking companies as well as engineering and product management positions with prominent global technology companies.

With the addition of Ms. Vitale and Mr. Szabados and the retirement of Mr. Mullarkey, NETSCOUT’s Board of Directors is now composed of nine directors, seven of whom are independent.
