In a recent virtual event from Becker’s Healthcare, two dozen IT leaders gathered to examine challenges and lessons learned during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Certainly growth in the use—and value—of telemedicine was a top discussion point for the forum, but so too were a variety of other IT digital transformations.
Among the thought-provoking takeaways from the event: Healthcare is an essential business 24x7x365, something the COVID-19 crisis brought home with full force. And healthcare is IT-intensive, as technology touches nearly every area of patient care and staff operations. Projects haven’t stopped during the crisis. Some have remained on track, others were accelerated, and a few were perhaps slightly defocused, but IT has remained operating at the highest of levels.
Read how one children’s hospital not only maintained its IT initiatives and even improved its ability to securely use IoT devices, but also assured performance of healthcare services across its ISP links, just as those services became more important than ever.
