RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User Service) is a networking protocol that provides centralized access, authorization, and accounting management for people or computers to connect to and use a network service . Some networks or services require authentication to allow a user or a device to access them. RADIUS manages the authentication process on a server and determines what rights or privileges the user or device is authorized to have. RADIUS also keeps a record of each access and authentication in the accounting section on a server with an AAA Interface. See also Diameter.
