nGenius Certified Professional (nCP) Certification
 The nGenius Certified
Professional (nCP) Program
is a training and certification
program designed to provide
network and systems administrators
with the fundamental knowledge
needed to analyze network
performance and troubleshoot
enterprise network infrastructures.
Internetworking professionals
that achieve nCP certification
possess a fundamental knowledge
of NetScout probes and nGenius® Performance
Manager to support network
and application analysis
of internetworking implementations.
Through this new training
and certification offering,
both system administrators
and end users will be extended
the opportunity to receive
academic recognition of their
knowledge and skill sets
relative to NetScout Systems'
hardware and software platforms.
The nGenius Certified
Professional (nCP)
Designation
The nGenius Certified
Professional designation
indicates a focus that reflects
a candidate's knowledge in
configuring and administering
NetScout's nGenius Performance
Manager System to analyze
and troubleshoot mixed topologies
within an enterprise network
infrastructure.
nGenius Certified
Professionals are recognized
as having demonstrated a
fundamental knowledge of
NetScout probe configuration
and implementation as well
as network and application
analysis through the use
of nGenius Performance
Manager.
Evaluation of a candidate's
knowledge is conducted through
participation in a three-day,
lecture/laboratory-based
training session and the
successful completion of
a comprehensive written assessment.
The nGenius Certified
Professional designation
is awarded to the successful
candidate upon completion
of the training session and
the nCP Written Assessment
with a score of 80% or greater.
Certification Process
nCP Certification is available
to any candidate that attends
the nGenius Performance
Manager v4.x training session. The
nCP assessment is provided
to all candidates in hardcopy
during the course and must
be completed prior to the
conclusion of the training
session.
Certification Status
nCP certification is offered
in accordance with the latest
NetScout product releases
and is bound to a specific
version of CDM firmware and nGenius Performance
Manager. NetScout reserves
the right to modify or cancel
this program as necessary
to accommodate business requirements.
MasterCare Customer
Certification
Qualified customers may be
eligible for discounts on
MasterCare support for obtaining
nCP status upon completion
of the three-day nGenius Performance
Manager v4.x training course.

Required Internetworking
Background
- One or
more years of systems/network
administration and troubleshooting
internetworking technologies.
- Solid
understanding of internetworking
protocol operations.
- Fundamental
understanding of RMON/RMON2.
Required Training
Session
As part of the certification
process, all candidates are
required to complete the nGenius Performance
Manager V4.x training session.
The nGenius Certified
Professional Written
Assessment
In conjunction with the lecture/laboratory-based nGenius Performance
Manager Administrator training
session, candidates are required
to successfully complete
a written assessment that
is designed to evaluate the
candidate's knowledge and
skill sets relative to the nGenius Performance
Manager platform and NetScout
probes.
