GSM/UMTS is the choice of the majority of operators worldwide for delivering mobile services to an ever increasing number of subscribers. Regardless of whether they are a single mobile subscriber with basic services or a “VIP” customer representing a substantial corporate account, improving retention and loyalty by assuring service quality is the essential goal.
While voice traffic is well managed, assuring quality of rapidly expanding data services remains a challenge. Visibility into the activity crossing the converged IP/MPLS core, the associated physical segments, virtual circuits and all the services transported through them is essential for minimizing degradations and responding to network behavioral changes as rapidly as possible.

  Ensuring high-quality delivery of all applications and services across a GSM/UMTS network core is part of NetScout’s Global Assurance initiative, which allows operators to:
