What is an RSS feed?
RSS means Real Simple Syndication. RSS is a new method of delivering online content. It's like subscribing to a radio or TV station. Using either free software or a free account online, you will view a summary or the entire textual content that includes a link back to the web site where the content permanently resides.
Why do I want RSS?
- The benefit of RSS for you, the subscriber, is that subscription using RSS is anonymous. You subscribe to receive notices about the topics you're interested in. You read it when and where you want to.
- You no longer have to keep checking a web site to see if there is any new content.
- It's a great alternative to email newsletters and helps you avoid spam in your Inbox. That's right. You no longer have to provide your email address in order to receive notices about a number of topics. NetScout RSS feeds currently include: 2005 Press Releases and Job Postings.
How can I read RSS feed content?
You can read content delivered via RSS using "RSS feed reader" free software or get a free account with a hosted service like www.Bloglines.com A hosted service offers you the advantage of being able to access your news feeds from any computer with internet access.
How do I add a feed to my RSS reader?
Click the link to subscribe to the RSS feed and choose from popular RSS Readers like: My Yahoo!, Bloglines, Newsgator, Pluck, Rojo, Google and many others.
What types of RSS content can I receive from NetScout?
