nGenius Performance Manager v4.3 Is Now Available. |
|
NetScout Customer Johnson Controls Wins Award for nGenius Solution Implementation
|

nGenius Performance Manager v4.3 is now available. Two very important capabilities are included in this release – the introduction of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Selective Recording in nGenius AFMons.
- KPI metrics expose problematic conditions such as failed connections, application and network error conditions, slow responsiveness issues and timeouts. In the 4.3 release of the nGenius solution, KPI views and alarms provide high-level, easily accessible data designed to reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution).
- AFMon Selective Recording allows all, none or part of network packets to be recorded on a per application basis. While this extends storage time, it is also important for compliance with regulations such as PCI and HIPPA.
The release also includes several new features designed to improve ease of use and data visualization, including:
- Capacity Planning views which show the number of times threshold levels have been breached over a 15 minute or 1 hour period so short-term significant events are not diluted
- Link Analysis views which launch/link “Link Usage over Time” with the associated “Top N Applications” and “Top N Application Layer Conversations” snapshots.
- Threshold lines on Over Time chart views quickly identify data that exceeds the defined threshold value
- Link Overlays compare the total link traffic to the selected application/host traffic.
- Alarm Overlay displays Basic and Power alarm icons in the Link Usage over Time view to correlate alarms with usage data
- Dual Y-axis views which display two metrics on the same chart (i.e., volume versus utilization)
- Multi-Hop Bounce Charts track conversations that transverse multiple instrumentation points or segments
- Multi-Tier Bounce Charts track application transactions that occur over multiple devices
nGenius Performance Manager 4.3 also provides the ability to further extend well-known applications by specifying additional ports used or to define children of well-known applications by identifying server IPs or subnets (up to eight) and/or a message group within the application.
