Network General Adds Internet Protocol Version 6 Courses to Sniffer University Schedule
Company partners with SynExi to deliver comprehensive classroom training on IPv6 using best practices case examples and hands-on technology demonstrations
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Oct. 10, 2007 – Network General Corporation™, the leading provider of IT Service Assurance solutions, today announced the availability of a complete suite of courses on Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) from its Sniffer University Education Division. Network General has partnered with SynExi LLC, a recognized leader in Internet technologies and IPv6, to produce and deliver courses that will help organizations to develop a successful IPv6 strategy and implementation plan, and provide key tactics for monitoring IPv6 in their networks.
The current Internet Protocol (IPv4) was not designed to handle the recent proliferation of web-enabled devices, and as a result the Internet is rapidly running out of available web addresses. IPv6 was developed to resolve this issue by providing a nearly limitless pool of web addresses, while also offering many improvements to network routing and auto-configuration. However, the introduction of IPv6 into an organization can also cause serious issues for network and IT managers, if not properly planned and implemented. This type of transition should be done methodically and having the appropriate training is critical for a successful roll-out..
The Sniffer University courses will enable attendees to:
- gain a baseline of knowledge on the benefits and use of IPv6
- participate in a hands-on technology “deep dive” into the IPv6 protocol - something not always possible in their current environments
- understand the fundamentals for developing a strategy and planning for the successful implementation of IPv6 in their environments
- access a wealth of industry knowledge and a world-class lab to learn about leveraging Network General Solutions for analyzing, deploying, and maintaining their IPv6 environments
“Network General is the first company in our industry to offer a full suite of courses on this important topic,” said Eric Crump, director of global consulting and education at Network General. “Through our partnership with SynExi, we can provide customers cutting-edge training with one of the top thought leaders in the area of IPv6. Early understanding and planning for IPv6 will help our customers increase their implementation success rates and ultimately achieve a greater long-term return on their investments.”
The Sniffer University suite of IPv6 training consists of a two-day introductory course and a three-day advanced class. For more information about Sniffer University or to sign up for these courses, please visit http://www.networkgeneral.com/SnifferUniversity.aspx.
