Network General Wants to Know: Are You The World's Greatest Network Analyzer?
Contest to Reveal Most Unique Deployment of Sniffer Portable
SAN JOSE, CALIF., May 23, 2005 Network General Corporation, the global leader in enterprise network and application performance management, today announced the launch of the World's Greatest Network Analyzer contest. The company is searching for the best troubleshooting story where Sniffer Portable was used to quickly isolate and resolve a network and application performance problem.
For nearly two decades, thousands of IT professionals worldwide have depended on Sniffer Portable to discover, pinpoint, and analyze network and application performance problems, while automatically recommending corrective action to quickly resolve those problems. Most performance problems are easily identified and resolved by using Sniffer Portable's award-winning Expert analysis technology and the industry's widest-array of real-time protocol decodes. However, every Sniffer Portable user has at least one unique, unusual or complex troubleshooting story that could make him or her the World's Greatest Network Analyzer.
To enter the contest, Sniffer Portable users can log onto www.networkgeneral.com/contest1/ to share their story and win a chance at a grand prize of a $1,000 (USD) gift certificate to The Sharper Image. Five other winners will receive a $100 gift certificate for The Sharper Image.
The call for entries ends July 29, 2005. Contest entries must be submitted via the contest Web form from the Network General Web site. A panel of judges including Bill Alderson, Pine Mountain Group; Laura Chappell, Protocol Analysis Institute; Vincent Lui, senior research analyst at IDC; and Jeffrey Nudler, senior analyst at Enterprise Management Associates will select the winners on August 8, 2005.
