Network General to Present Best Practices for Application Performance Measurement at GTC West Conference
SAN JOSE, CALIF., May 10, 2005 Network General Corporation, the pioneer and global leader in enterprise application and network performance analysis, today announced that Adam Reeves, Network General's senior manager of Technical Marketing, will be a featured speaker at the Government Technology Conference (GTC) West, the largest technology conference for state and local government. Mr. Reeves will discuss the core principals, concepts and solutions of application performance measurement and how to improve the ability to understand what the key application performance issues are, why they are there, and how to resolve them.
GTC West will take place at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, California, May 9-13, 2005. Mr. Reeves will be speaking in the Learning Center on the exhibition floor on May 11 at 1:30PM. Network General will also be showcasing its application and network performance analysis solutions at booth #1503.
"As more and more applications are deployed on enterprise networks, they are becoming a main source for network performance problems and downtime," said Mr. Reeves. "Network General is committed to helping enterprises identify, monitor, measure, manage and resolve issues associated with the deployment and on-going maintenance of applications. Network General's solutions enable IT professionals to see and evaluate application and network traffic flows and understand how to manage them for optimal performance."
Network General's industry-leading Sniffer Distributed network performance analysis solution leverages the visibility into application traffic made available through Appera application manager to quickly determine which applications, servers, and VLANs were involved in a problem, as well as the time period during which the issue occurred. With this high-level view, networking and applications departments can find a common ground to measure and improve application performance over the network.
