Network General to Launch Operations in India to Deliver Best-in-Class Network and Application Performance Solutions to Customers Worldwide
SAN JOSE, CALIF., Sept. 10, 2004 Network General Corporation, the leading developer and provider of award-winning solutions for network and application performance management, today announced plans to open an India research and development (R&D) operation in Bangalore. The new facility expects to be operational beginning in October 2004.
Network General Corporation was formed from the Sniffer Technologies division at McAfee, Inc. (formerly Network Associates). On April 22, 2004, Silver Lake Partners and Texas Pacific Group agreed to jointly acquire this business unit. The acquisition was completed in July.
Located in the heart of the central business district of Bangalore, the new office on Infantry Road is in the building known as "Embassy Icon". The 20,000 square foot facility can accommodate over 100 of the finest engineers in networking technologies. The facility will house state of the art test lab facilities which will enable the engineering teams to undertake complete lifecycle product engineering, right up to the system integration and final certification. The Bangalore office will be connected by a 4 MBPS data communication link with the headquarters in San Jose, California.
The Bangalore team will be responsible for product development, customer-facing engineering and various cycles of QA.
