NetScout to Advise on Best Practices in VoIP Management at Internet Telephony

WESTFORD, Mass. – August 31, 2007—NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), the industry pace-setter for advanced network and service assurance solutions, today announced that the company will present a paper at next month’s Internet Telephony 2007 conference, which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from September 10-12.

Far too many network managers have found out the hard way: no matter how well-architected your network is, once voice is added, any idiosyncrasy is bound to appear. NetScout’s presentation will illustrate how robust network and application performance management throughout all four phases of the transition from “plain old telephone service” to VoIP can eliminate existing and prevent potential idiosyncrasies, so end-users continue to experience reliable voice and data service quality.

The presentation will notably discuss the newest of the three essential elements, early warning and detection of performance problems. New developments in statistical analysis of performance metrics are yielding faster, predictive recognition of threats to converged application performance, for the first time giving operations staff the opportunity to prevent service degradations before critical business services and end-users are affected.

Those who are not attending the conference but would like to learn more about how NetScout’s technology enables the move to VoIP can listen to the webinar, “VoIP Management in Converged Networks”.
