NetScout to Lead Two Educational Sessions at HP Software Universe

Sessions Will Cover Best Practices for Reducing MTTR in Virtual and Converged Networks and Assuring Performance on MPLS Networks

WESTFORD, Mass. – June 19, 2007—NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), the industry pacesetter for advanced network and service assurance solutions, today announced that two of its top executives will deliver educational sessions to participants of the HP Software Universe 2007 conference. The event is being held this week at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

NetScout vice president of corporate development Alan Fink will co-present an hour-long session alongside Mark West, manager of global infrastructure network services at Johnson Controls who is a customer of both NetScout and HP. The session, “Reducing MTTR and Optimizing Business Services Performance in Virtualized and Converged Network Environments,” will discuss the types of troubleshooting tools and performance metrics necessary to relieve the increasing pressure on network operations centers to reduce the Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) and improve the performance of business services delivered over increasingly complex and converged IT infrastructure.

NetScout vice president of business development Bruce Sweet will present a session titled “Assuring Performance and Customer Satisfaction for MPLS Service Networks,” which will address the challenges inherent in assessing the performance of customer-specific service flows in Layer-3 MPLS networks over a shared infrastructure. Sweet will detail the new method for capturing key performance metrics by customer, by VRF, to make sure that priority applications are performing as required over the MPLS core, which can improve key application usage within a VRF and assist with traffic engineering, troubleshooting and forecasting future usage for sites providing 3G services.

NetScout is a Platinum Business Partner in HP’s Enterprise Management Alliance Program. NetScout’s nGenius® Solution is certified by HP to integrate with HP Operations Manager (formerly HP OpenView Operations), HP Network Node Manager (NNM) and HP Business Availability Center (formerly Mercury Business Availability Center).

Certification signifies that HP tested the nGenius Solution against established criteria and verified its compatibility with HP Software. The certification process involves several weeks of interactive integration testing by HP engineers in cooperation with the partner’s development team.

“HP has long been an important ally and a leader in improving business services and network management – integrating work flow data in a unique way to reduce MTTR – for large enterprises and service providers,” said Alan Fink, vice president of corporate development at NetScout. “We are honored to be involved in helping to educate their customers on the latest techniques for assuring performance.”

In addition to the sessions, NetScout is also a sponsor of HP Software Universe 2007 and is available at booth # 405 to meet with conference attendees.
