NetScout Unveils Comprehensive Strategy for E-business Markets; New Line of Products, Partnerships and Programs To Allow Optimal E-Business Operations
WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2000--NetScout(R) Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTCT), a global provider of business-critical network management solutions, today unveiled its strategic initiative encompassing a number of new products, partnerships and sales programs. This initiative is aimed at easing the transition of NetScout's existing enterprise customers into e-business and at meeting the needs of emerging customers providing online business, application hosting and Internet services.
The new products combine NetScout's award-winning Application Flow Management (AFM) technology with a highly scalable architecture. They will provide critical visibility and control for e-business websites, web-enabled applications and outsourced infrastructures. Featuring dedicated application-aware instrumentation, user-defined access to key subsystems, and intelligent thresholds and alarms with historical context, the solution is able to provide unique real-time, system-wide visibility proactively and on demand.
The functionality will be delivered through a common interface, enabling single-point access to all NetScout features, as well as those derived from future technology partners. This new solution will enable NetScout users to mitigate e-business disasters by preventing site slowdowns and breakdowns, whether caused by increased and unexpected traffic, internal software bugs, equipment failure, external attacks or other events. Other benefits will include speedier site deployment and smoother operation of e-business applications and infrastructures.
"Our technology and approach to network management is resonating stronger than ever across our expanding customer base," said Anil Singhal, chairman and CEO, NetScout Systems. "The strategic value of our solutions has been demonstrated by a continued increase in our order size," he added. "This strategic initiative is a logical step for us, and for the market in general. The unprecedented volumes of business traffic being directed over the Internet, the number of e-business extensions being initiated from large corporations, and the acceleration in outsourcing make this an opportune time for delivering these new solutions."
To effectively deliver these new solutions to its expanded markets, NetScout has been steadily expanding its direct sales force, international presence, reseller and training programs, and customer awareness initiatives. The company is also embarking on a broad partnering strategy and has formed a new strategic partnership and acquisition group to focus exclusively in this area. In addition to partnering with system management and third party service companies, the company intends to partner with complementary players such as web-hosting, caching, outsourcing and other vendors providing technologies aimed at improving the "Internet experience."
The company has an aggressive timetable for delivering on this strategy, beginning with several announcements planned in the coming quarter. These announcements will be complemented by product demonstrations and briefings to the press, industry analysts and the investment community. Major components of the product set will be announced and delivered over the next two quarters, with the first one targeted around the N+I Trade Show in Las Vegas, in early May.
