White Paper Abstract: Monitoring VPN Enabled Network with the nGenius® Solution
As enterprises and government agencies look for new, cost-effective ways to improve the security, scalability, and reliability, of their networked data, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have increased in popularity. However, the technological framework that helps secure the traffic and packets may also obscure the details that most network professionals require for troubleshooting and traffic engineering their networks. This paper outlines a best-practices approach for collecting network and application performance information over VPN enabled networks by using the nGenius® Solution’s Site Monitoring feature to monitor traffic flows destined for remote sites. Site Monitoring overcomes the complexity involved in VPNs by letting IT staff instrument the LAN side of the network with nGenius Probes to allow monitoring traffic from the remote-site WAN perspective.
